Dear Chairman Croce:

I am so pleased that the New York Correction History Society (NYCHS) is providing a new home for the Crimes in North Country History pages that I created while Clinton County District Attorney.

The history of justice, crime and corrections is fascinating! It was several years ago that I found your excellent website while I was trying to track down information on Peggy Facto, a woman who was hanged in Plattsburgh in 1825 for murdering her new-born child.

That led to e-mail communications with your NYCHS webmaster, who immediately came to mind when I sought to keep the North Country crime information on the internet.

Thank you so much,

Penelope D. Clute,

City Court Judge,

Plattsburgh, N.Y.
