Close-up View #9 shows about 30 men, presumably keepers, nearly all of whom sport mustaches. Seven are seen wearing white carnations, bringing the approximate total of white carnation wearers in the full 170-man photo to about 40. This suggest they have been officers of the keepers organization and members of the dinner committee. Among the 30 in the view above are some of those closest to the camera. Dark ties and cravats appear to predominate. Note that slanted slim rectangular objects positioned at each place setting. Perhaps menus offering each guest a choice of main dish: steak, chicken or fish? Or perhaps the printed program for the event? Note the rare full beard up front. |
