| * Due to various causes, including inmate population declines and budgetary constraints, James A. Thomas Center and West Facility (except for the Contagious Disease Unit) on Rikers have been placed on reserve status as have the Bronx and Queens Houses of Detention. They are closed to inmate housing but remain DOC facilities. The Brooklyn Correctional Facility and the 6-bed terminal care unit in Goldwater Memorial Hospital on Roosevelt Island have been completely discontinued and are no longer part of DOC. |
