Kenneth M. Miley Sr., a retired New York City Department of Correction officer, died April 22, 2005, from lung cancer.

Miley, who joined NYC DOC in August 1978, retired in September 1998. His work assignments, mostly on Rikers Island, included C-76.

Born Sept. 26, 1949, Miley -- originally from the Bronx -- resided in Rockaway for the last 50 years of his life.

He was survived by his wife, Marilyn Hedrick Miley. They were married 33 years.

Other survivors included son, Kenneth M. Miley Jr.; daughters, Colleen Burke, Christine Gallagher and Donna Figueroa; and brothers, William Jr., Christopher, Robert, Michael, and Thomas Miley.

Funeral arrangements were handled by the Denis S. O'Connor Funeral Home. A requiem mass was held in St. Camillus Roman Catholic Church. Internment took place in St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale, L.I.
