COMMISSIONER KERIK TO MANDY ON HIS 50 YEARS OF SERVICE
May 7, 1999Captain Alfred M. MandaniciCorrection Captains Association 299 Broadway, New York, New York 10007 Dear Captain Mandanici:
It is with great pleasure, that I join the hundreds of people who are here to honor you this evening for your fifty years of dedicated city service. When you were appointed to the New York City Department of Correction in May of 1949, I know that you never dreamed that almost to the day, 50 years later, your career choice would culminate with an evening such as this.
For all of your years as President and Vice President of the Correction Captains Association, for your years as the Community Mayor of Hollis, Queens, for the lifetime of dedication to the needs of "Special Children," my announcement this evening will let you know that you will have a permanent place in the hearts of the thousands of men and women who work in the New York City Department of Correction. I take this opportunity to wish you years of joy, happiness and good health.
Sincerely,
|
